Hi all,
Just finished building my new rig last night (see sig below) and the last thing I did before I went to bed was to flash the bios (CD method). I did it because apparently it has better support for memory over 800mhz (the memory I'm usin is 1000mhz) so I thought it might be worth doing.
Anyways, did the update, it booted straight into windows without any problem, so I called it a night. However.......I got up this morning decided to fire it up and do a couple of things before work. Upon booting I got BSOD for about 2/3 seconds then booted straight into windows! (crazy!) ...so I thought nothing of it. Installed my anti-virus software, that completed and then did an online update. Then i thought next i'll install the additional drivers for my keyboard, opened try, inserted disc, closed tray ......aaaaand BSOD!
This time the rig shuts down (or I shut it down, can't remember) I then restarted, it ran through its usual boot-up checks, then...........BSOD again for 2/3 seconds then on into windows, grrrr.
So I knocked it off again and came into work.
Any thoughts?
If i disconnect power and so on and pull the mobo's battery will that reset the bios to the version that was originally on the board? (I'm just wondering if that would fix it)
Hope you can shed a little light folks.
