Agreed! Do you have another PSU?
if both mobo dont post, doubt a new cpu will come dead unless u some how fried it in your system which you didnt because you PSU cant provide enough power.
get a new PSU you will need it in the long run.
480watts or more if you plan to get a new Geforce or ATi
after your new PSU let us know how you do, maybe write the post with your new setp

Yes there is mate, im embarassed to say that the original problem was me not plugging in the small cpu power connector on the MB, i havent built a pc for about 4 years so wasnt aware it needed plugging in, i didnt even notice it until i literally read the manual back to front. So all was fine, vista ultimate installed and the pc runs as fast as heck, never seen anything like it coming from a intel 820 D with a gigg of ram, unreal. Then i tried to update the bios using the gigabyte @BIOS tool and its killed the board, read my other thread

Seems to be a common problem with gigabyte bios updates, so im RMA'ig the MB tomorrow and wont be attempting a bios update atall again.
