New build - Wont start

Ok I am trying to build a computer at work.

Problem is I have plugged everything in and it powers up for a short time and then goes off. The monitor doesnt even come on.

The hard drive did have vista on it and it hasnt been formated, do you think that could be the problem?

Any suggestions?

No i cant even get to bios. The screen doesnt even come on the monitor.

How would it over heat tho, its very cold in here and its not been on enough to warm up.

Graphics is onboard. There is power getting to the board, the motherboard light comes on.

What could I try?

The 4 or 8 pin for cpu power installed - often gets missed.
Remove memory bar one stick and then try the other one, CMOS reset.

4 pin is in. Could try another 4 pin?

Just plugged in a sound cable and it goes

Ok found the right cmos (not very well marked)

Got as far as windows install, looking good.

Gold Star for the CMOS recommendation!
