Brand new build and yet another problem. New mobo, ram and CPU. I plugged them all in wired em up and started my pc, nothing turns on, no noise whatsoever and the fans don't move.

I noticed whilst building the mobo seemed to have one or two pins bent, would that be the issue?

Gigabyte z77-D3H
I5 3570k
8gb Kingston hyperX ram
Ati 7850 2gb twin frozr III
Antec 550W psu

I need replies ASAP please

Hey, a bit more information would be useful. Is the case new or being used from a previous system?? Have all the rmotherboard risers be put in the right place??? as one might be touching the board if positioned wrong or left over from a previous build.

Have you re-checked all your connections like the 24 pin ATX and 4 pin CPU power lead, have you connected up the front panel connectors right and have you tried to start the PC up with a screw driver. Have you tried a different PSU or shorted the PSU ATX 24 pin and connect a fan or optical drive to see if the PSU fan spins and work.

Where are the bent pins located to on the mobo, CPU socket, jumpers??? we need to know where the pins are bent so we can tell if it is an issue or not.

The case is not new an was used in a previous build. There are no standoffs from my previous mobo left over. The bent/missing pins are in the socket, I would take pics but that means I need to remove my coolermaster 212 which is a huge pain.

remove it,thats the issue, bent pins, take a pic and post here of the whole socket close up,you might be able to straighten them if your carefull with a sewing needle but tbh i would rma it,gigabyte repair damaged socket pins for free

if you snap any off your screwed, the boards no good

if there are pins missing or bent, then this would indeed cause various problems. I would RMA the board if it were me as missing/bent pins on a board is not good. Chip was inserted right was it before you clamped the chip and installed the Cooler. How many times did you remove the chip testing??

Also did the mobo come with a socket protector when bought it as they mostly do to prevent this sort of thing. Did you apply paste to the chip??

I will rma the board. What shall I say, I opened it and the pins were bent and missing?

I was thinking just saying that I miss purchased it, wrap it up and send back hoping they don't notice the pins?(not with overclockers)

ram installed in the white slots only? or miss the first and third slot from cpu socket

make sure the 4/8 pin cpu power connector is plugged into the motherboard and the 24pin connector

Silly question and all, but your psu is switched on right?

Maybe take a picture of your case so we can see if there's anything not quite right.

Test your psu by jump starting it with a paper clip (google how to do this). If it's working all the fans connected to Molex plugs should spin up etc.
