Looking to build a computer for around £400-£450 excluding operating system.

What do you think of this? Will all the components work together? Also is this motherboard too basic and should i get a bigger one with more PCI-slots etc. If yes can you recommend one which will work with that processor.

MSI 945GZM3-L SKT775 DDR2 PCI-E SATA 7.1channel audio onboard VGA mATX

Pentiumd 945 3.4ghz Lga775 Fsb800 2 X 2mb No Vt Retail Boxed

Crucial 1GB 240-PIN DIMM UNBUFF DDR2 PC5300

Seagate ST3160811AS 160GB 7200.9 SATA II 7200RPM Drive - OEM

Sony AW-G170AB2 18xDVD±RW/RAM Dual Layer Writer Black - Bare Drive

Arctic Cooling (AC-FRZ-7P) Freezer 7 Pro Socket 775 CPU Cooler

Sumvision 550W 20+4pin SATA 2x 80mm Fan PSU - Retail Box

Casecom KG-868 Black Mid Tower Windowed Gaming Case With 350W PSU - USB2.0/Audio/8cm Fan

Microsoft Business Hardware Pack - Black/Silver Wired Keyboard with Black Wired Optical Mouse - PS/2-USB

thanks

EDIT: Is this motherboard a better one to get

Asrock ConroeXFire-eSATA2 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

have a look in this thread I believe the poster required an OS there, so scoop out the Graphics card in the post, and replace with an X1950 Pro connect 256MB.

Look at the Conroe specs BTW, Lazy-boy and or Furnaces springs to mind.

thanks for info

lazy-boy or furnaces??

im a noob to computer making

what u mean by conroe specs

it says SKT775 and the processor is 775 too? Is this combination not possible???

looked at the spec by furnace but i dont want that processor . i prefer this pentium d 945 3.4ghz

so that conroe motherboard will work with the processor right

really? well i just run at 1280x1024

so, ill be better off with a 256mb card then? Can you recommend me one. i would like it with a fan to keep it on the safe side.

Thanks

one more thing :D

which PSU should i get :

Coolermaster IGreen 430W PSU - 85% Efficiency ATX12V v2.2 120mm Fan

this coolermaster one has

20+4pin motherboard connector, 1x 12v4pin CPU connector, 1x 8pin+12v CPU connector, 1x 6pin PCI-E Connector, 4x SATA, 5x 4pin peripheral connector, 1x floppy

is that everything i need for my spec that we have been discussing :)

or is this one better - i know many say seasonic is good

Seasonic S12 Series 430W ATX2.0 PSU With PCI-E Power Connector
