Looking to build a computer for around £400-£450 excluding operating system.

What do you think of this? Will all the components work together? Also is this motherboard too basic and should i get a bigger one with more PCI-slots etc. If yes can you recommend one which will work with that processor.

have a look in this thread I believe the poster required an OS there, so scoop out the Graphics card in the post, and replace with an X1950 Pro connect 256MB.

Look at the Conroe specs BTW, Lazy-boy and or Furnaces springs to mind.

looked at the spec by furnace but i dont want that processor . i prefer this pentium d 945 3.4ghz

so that conroe motherboard will work with the processor right

really? well i just run at 1280x1024

so, ill be better off with a 256mb card then? Can you recommend me one. i would like it with a fan to keep it on the safe side.
