Well after fixing one problem with my system another surfaces and now Windows refuses to boot (can only assume it's the hard drive, currently running through memtest). Really not bothered about spending time doing endless troubleshooting, so decided to go future proof with a completely new system.

So far I have this: http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/5638/setupk.jpg

Any suggestions/alternate builds are more than welcome, mainly on the motherboard, although I really can't be doing with mATX (my 4890 covers 2 PCI slots). Max budget is really £450 (including vat and shipping) and I already have a case and video card.

Also means I have a Q9450 going begging if anyone is interesting in extending the life of their 775 setup on the cheap. :) Only had it since September, never been OC'd etc.

Cheers.

Spend another 5£ and you can get a hdd with double the cache and 25% bigger.

8£ more gets you 12800 ram (if you intend to overclock)

Guess this was the HDD raralis was talking about, Link.
Out of stock however, you may wish to look at alternatives such as This or This.

However you can start buying 500GB drives for them prices :).

Hope that helped.

Yeah it did, thanks. Although the hard drive is mainly just a temporary solution until I have the budget for a more permanent 2TB drive. Basically just needs to house my 12GB of music, 50GB steam account and the usual stuff for a month or two. :)

Oh well fair enough, probably the one raralis suggested would be best as it has double the cache and extra space which is worth it for £5. But like i said it's out of stock and if you plan on using the HDD as a very temporary drive then you could go for the one you chose originally. :)
