new build

I pressed the red button, the Advanced Turbo 50. But I have some other options available now it's disabled.

Although the voltages it's trying to pump in are insane. over 1.4V for 4.6GHz. Think I'll do it manually.

Thats a lot, but you already know this.

Just dug up a a old picture of the 4.6 setting on my old board and that used 1.344V recorded in CPU-Z

Splurged, literally, for a new rig

Intel i5-2500K.
AsRock Z68 Extreme4 Gen3.
Kingston HyperX Genesis 8GB 12800C9.
Thermalright MUX-120.
Sapphire 6950 2GB TOXIC (x2).
Crucial M4 128GB.
Corsair Carbide 500R.
Corsair AX 850.
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Retail.
Samsung F3 1TB (x2).
BlackGold BGT3620 TV tuner.

It's still a work in progress, pictures, benchmarks, power consumption and thoughts to come :)

It's funny; my search to upgrade my current AMD rig has lead down a similar path.

So far I’ve purchased:
Intel i5-2500K.
AsRock Z68 Extreme4 Gen3.

I am saving up to purchase a Crucial M4 256GB.

Bits from my current rig I will be using are:
G. Skill RipsawsX 8GB DDR3-1600.
ATI 5850 1GB(Crossfire) I will only replace new when PCi cards are out
CM90 II Advanced
1TB WD Caviar Black,
Asus Xonar Essence STX
BlackGold HD DVB-T2
Noctua-NH-D14
XFX 850W Black Edition

I am hoping this is going to be big leap, similar to going from dual to quad core.

great minds think alike :)

TBH I haven't noticed much difference between my 'old' rig (1055T @ 3.6GHz + 560ti), apart from boot times, And the Vertex2E was no slouch. I haven't really pushed anything yet, But it's been rock solid so far. relegated the old rig to backup status, put new one under the desk, put the TV card in, all good. Smoothest build I've done.

Now waiting for some real test, with BF3 and skyrim!

i just screwed my fans in from the underside.

The screws bite into the fan plastic.
