I'm going to be getting some money next week and am up for spending around £1,100 max probably. Mainly going to be playing games, uni work and also some other stuff related to my degree in networking. I already have a NZXT 410 Midi tower, Antec True Power 550w 80+ bronze PSU and San Disk Extreme 120gb SSD for my OS which i hopefuly can use with this build.
Main reasons for picking the i7 and not the i5 is that i have some lee way due to already having a case, ssd and psu which hopefully should be alright as i'm only planning to run one gfx card as of now. Also opting for windows 7 as i prefer it and am not keen on using the trial/purchasing W8.
I was thinking about 16gb ram but went for the 8gb 2133mhz ram instead as it will probably be more useful than the 16gb, also taking into account the i7 is probably overkill for gaming but will probably be put to use at a later date.
Also wondering if i can rely on this refurbed H100? was thinking about sticking with a high-end air cooler but then I'll have to take clearance into account.
Also my other components i will be selling in a few months to a family member (will use this money for something else)

Build is looking good, you could drop the sound card and use the onboard sound.

A lot of people have been pleased with the refurbished H100 units.

Ah right, if so i'll ditch the sound card :)
Sounds good, I'll stick with the H100, other than that the PSU is more than enough? If I plan to go sli in the future I'll probably upgrade the PSU then but i tend to just stick with single cards anyway to be honest.

Creative sound blaster Z OEM is a good card, software is less full of bloat than the XFI days.

Yeah, could swap out the DX for the Blaster Z actually, I've got a pair of Creative 2.1 speakers so that'll be a good match up.
Would the case headphone/mic jack be running off onboard sound still?

Cheers, Sneak :)
