First off thank you for taking the time to try and help me :)

Ok so after thinking of upgrading I have come to the conclusion I'll be better off building new and selling off the old.


Old spec:
gigabyte ga-78lmt-usb3 4.1 running f4 bios
amd fx6300 6 core
16GB DDR3 1600mhz Kingston hyper x
sapphire radion 7750 hd 1G ddr5
cheap and maybe not so cheerful HDD 1TB and dvdrw
cit atx 500cb PSU

To keep from the old:
16GB DDR3 1600mhz Kingston hyper x
Saphire Radeon HD7750 (temporarily)
HDD and DVD

The idea is to have the fastest system I can afford and to help with this
I will be planning this to be a 2 stage upgrade, the list above (or your best recommendations,) followed by GPU in a couple of months time leaving the option open to crossfire in the future.
 
Ok back to the original post, is that the best way to spend my money?
There seem to be many 990fx mobo's at a similar price range, this one seems most recommended on here?

Also would a low cost SSD eg
SanDisk Pulse 64GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive
perform well enough or would you recommend spending more?

Well you do sound rude, I have however taken the time to answer your questions as I still want help with mine, although maybe somebody else could step in?
As you have seen all the posts I'm sure you can see they follow logically my decision making process as I am looking to upgrade my PC.

I have posted here to ask the advice of experts, I am guessing you are not one of these, least not in people skills anyway.

Your right, my appologies, I had written about the over clock in the original post, and talked about it with somebody else, this is the main reason behind the change of CPU to the 8320, I must have erased it during the editing.

Anyway, I want to help so let's not argue about it.

What has happened to give you a bit of background is as I have learned a bit I have wanted more, so as I have gone down this road of upgrading I have lost sight of what I originally wanted and keep on pushing the budget higher to get better spec! That is how I ended up at the shopping list above, I don't mind stretching the budget to include an SSD either if it will keep me happy for a few years :)

I must admit I am only playing that one simulator and I think you are spot on regarding the ever increasing budget!
I will go back to the drawing board I think and scale it back a few notches, as you say I will easily end up choosing higher and higher spec components.

The reason I liked the cooler was it was in the offer for 50% rrp and seemed like good value when a recommended air cooler was £30 in the other thread when talking about overclocking, its not easy deciding when you don't really have a clue!
 
I have made some purchases today, spent just under £300 on everything minus GPU so approx. £100 less than the start of this thread, the main reason is I have decided to keep the 6300 for now, but have added an SSD, is there a good guide to building and overclocking I can follow?
