All items listed above are my current choices, if you have any suggestions, please comment or otherwise please confirm its a good choice!

The idea is to have the fastest system I can afford and to help with this
I will be planning this to be a 2 stage upgrade, the list above (or your best recommendations,) followed by GPU in a couple of months time leaving the option open to crossfire in the future.

Do you have a SSD ? as mechanical hard drives are the biggest bottleneck on a computer.

I disagree with this. An SSD only effects load times. It wont have any impact on gaming performance which means it won't bottleneck the system if you don't have one. Saying that it's worth having one!

Never said it did have an affect on gaming performance , even though it will feed data to the gpu faster and load times will be faster.

Bottlenecking means other components won't work at their best because of another component. All the components will work just fine with HDD's but like you say load times will be slower on a HDD.

If it doesn't fit in the budget then it's not essential but it's a nice thing to have as it does make the PC feel very snappy and fast.

Ok back to the original post, is that the best way to spend my money?
There seem to be many 990fx mobo's at a similar price range, this one seems most recommended on here?

Also would a low cost SSD eg
SanDisk Pulse 64GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive
perform well enough or would you recommend spending more?

I don't want to sound rude but this is the 3rd/4th thread you've started on this very same subject, you've had loads of useful info and help in all of them.

Anyway, what's the budget now? Is it still £300?? Do you really need that cooler? You could just get a normal cooler for less and maybe put some money towards a SSD?

Are you going to be overclocking? If not then this will be fine?

YOUR BASKET
1 x Kingston HyperX 3K SSD 120GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Drive (SH103S3/120G) £74.99
1 x Raijintek Aidos Direct Contact CPU Cooler £14.99
Total : £99.88 (includes shipping : £8.25).

It completely depends on what you want. You can spend your money and get the best/very good or if you haven't got the budget then you have to compromise somewhere.

I would rather get this and have a SSD as well.

1 x Gigabyte 970A-DS3P AMD 970A (Socket AM3+) DDR3 Motherboard £59.99

Well you do sound rude, I have however taken the time to answer your questions as I still want help with mine, although maybe somebody else could step in?
As you have seen all the posts I'm sure you can see they follow logically my decision making process as I am looking to upgrade my PC.

I have posted here to ask the advice of experts, I am guessing you are not one of these, least not in people skills anyway.

I have, and that has helped me compile the shopping list above.

As you said, I have had advice and a cooler has been recommended

Are you going to be overclocking? If not then this will be fine?

yes, please if you are going to comment at least read the post properly, I belive all the correct information to be there.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Kingston HyperX 3K SSD 120GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Drive (SH103S3/120G) £74.99

Any reson for this to be 120GB if its only for os? what about SanDisk Pulse 64GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive - (SDSSDP-064G-G25

1 x Raijintek Aidos Direct Contact CPU Cooler £14.99

All I'm saying is you've asked the same question in 3 or 4 threads. So why don't go for it? To me it's a little rude you don't take the advice of everyone who's helped.

Nowhere here does it say your going to be overclocking. And yes you will need a cooler but not necessary a £40 liquid one. I'm not asking to be a pain in the back side, just trying to save you some money to spend on better components like an SSD.

Anyway, I want to help so let's not argue about it.

If you want to stick to the 990fx then you could get this.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte 990XA-UD3 AMD 990X (Socket AM3+) DDR3 Motherboard £89.99

A little cheaper than the one you have chosen.

So that would be capable of over clocking the 8320 and running crossfire on 2 new GPU's?

I don't mean to sound rude, really, but can I ask How you are qualified to help me?

Really?? Not only do I teach computers I have my own little business. Yes you can crossfire on both I've put up.

Your right, my appologies, I had written about the over clock in the original post, and talked about it with somebody else, this is the main reason behind the change of CPU to the 8320, I must have erased it during the editing.

Anyway, I want to help so let's not argue about it.

Thank you, it is appreciated despite my sarcasm.

What has happened to give you a bit of background is as I have learned a bit I have wanted more, so as I have gone down this road of upgrading I have lost sight of what I originally wanted and keep on pushing the budget higher to get better spec! That is how I ended up at the shopping list above, I don't mind stretching the budget to include an SSD either if it will keep me happy for a few years :)

Lets shake hands and forget about that then.

I think you have a bit of a decision to make. As you say your budget has increased so I think you need to set a limit otherwise it will keep climbing! If you're only planning on playing VRC pro then your current CPU will be fine. Saying that if you now have the budget for a new one then why not?

If your budget has increased to the point where you can afford your first list and a SSD then go for it and it will make you very happy.

I must admit I am only playing that one simulator and I think you are spot on regarding the ever increasing budget!
I will go back to the drawing board I think and scale it back a few notches, as you say I will easily end up choosing higher and higher spec components.

The reason I liked the cooler was it was in the offer for 50% rrp and seemed like good value when a recommended air cooler was £30 in the other thread when talking about overclocking, its not easy deciding when you don't really have a clue!

The best thing to start with is your absolute budget, what you want it for (think about your future needs as well), if you have any components you are going to reuse ie mouse keyboard, moniter etc etc that way the expert speccers can goto work their magic and put together something that will fulfill your needs :), oh and if you think you will overclock in the future.

Do you want to spend £550 - £600 on upgrades? Quite a long way off the original amount you were thinking of spending. Looking back at the previous thread you've been recommended the 7950 and the 280x which are £200-£250 cards. Very good cards but unless you decide to play other games that are more graphically intense then they are overkill. A 7870 overclocked would be very good, in fact the 7850 overclocked would be very good for your needs. This would bring the budget down by £100-£130.

Like I said, I think you just need to decide on a budget and stick to it. The problem is when people spec you something slightly over budget and you think "yeah I'd like that," so the next person comes along and adds something else you'd really like, and then the next person and so on! All off a sudden your budget has doubled. As nice as it would be to get all these things if it's not in your budget then you will have to compromise.

I have made some purchases today, spent just under £300 on everything minus GPU so approx. £100 less than the start of this thread, the main reason is I have decided to keep the 6300 for now, but have added an SSD, is there a good guide to building and overclocking I can follow?

This is will what I will have by Wednesday, I have spent £300.
