Right, my mate really wanted a new pc, so i said i would build him one so tonight we got all parts together and started.

The pc has been built it also runs but now here comes the problem, it will not display an output, i have taken ram out, changed ram so thats not the problem.

have also tried running a hdmi and dvi cable from GPU to two monitors and still nothing.

i have cleared the bios and still nothing.

I really do not know where to go from here.

Computer specs

Corsair GS 700 PSU
X predator X3 Case
Corsair Vengence RAM 2x4gb
i5 3570K CPU
Z77A-G43 mobo
Hyper Evo CPU FAN and Heat Sink
7800 HD Gigabyte GPU 2gb

The Mobo btw had no CMOS jumper, not sure if that is the problem though, used one from old system to try it out because im not sure if it has to be in place to save bios data, tried using it to also clear cmos along with 2mins with battery out.

Please help, feel bad for my mate because i said i have never had problems with building computers that i couldn't solve and YET HERE WE ARE :o

:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

the Monitor will display that DVI is in use then it sleeps so it knows whats connected to it and same when i insert hdmi, i even checked by pressing auto input

Don't worry Sunny it will be easily remedied!

Ok if you haven't already try with a spare graphics card in your house to check whether there is an output, then we can at least know the problem is the card or the pci slot on the mobo.

If you don't have a spare card, or you could just try this anyway, take out the card completely and try with the onboard graphics.

If it works with the onboard graphics and there is a display output, you might want to try the card in a different pci slot.... if that still doesn't work, try the card in a different machine and if it is working rma the mobo. They're the usual checks I do.

Is there a setting on the monitor to change the output display mode ? VGA/HDMI/DVI etc

The on-board graphics is also the problem it will not display an image; thats with the GPU not inserted as well.

Can you try a VGA cable from the monitor to the motherboard ?

thats the next idea but bit earlier in the morning to be rummaging around, i will give it another look because i was think about going more basic due to the resolution the computer might be outputting and VGA should reduce that. apart from that i have got no idea what to do if that fails

Right i just tried vga in graphics card in both pcie slots and without GPU and in the integrated connection on mobo and this time the monitor did not sleep it just said check signal cable

Ok i have just noticed the even when the computer is up and running the PSU fans starts then stop and never continues to cool, could this be the problems? the 8 pin is in the correct place along with the 24pin

unless ofc it is ment to spin when it reachs certain temp

Does the machine POST? You mentioned you cleared the BIOS but just making sure. If you're getting no output at all it sounds like the motherboard may be DOA?
