New cabinet

Universities are back in the Department of Education which is good, but then they say this "...reforming the higher education sector to boost competition and continue to improve the quality of education that students receive" and there was me briefly thinking things might get a little better for the UK's universities :(

Been a naughty apparently. Sexting other ladies when he's a married man, the devil.

Anna Soubry wouldn't be bad in DWP. She's very left leaning so should be a bit more relaxed around welfare cuts..

What's really shocked me is that Hunt has retained his position. All this change, and that's the one constant.

Crabby has resigned in the best interests of the nation and the peoples of the UK.
Interesting.

I assume she is keeping Hunt as she can build his unpopularity, get as many policies in place, then burn him in a wickerman type situation to appease the NHS.

Bizarrely, the best welfare appointment for the disabled and unemployed could be IDS. Following his resignation over too many cuts, he would be in a corner and could not impose any more drastic cuts.

Hunt and May are pretty close allies. He was a major supporter of her bid so it's not a great surprise. Sad though, he's been a disaster.

So was remaining in the EU, within a reformed EU, so since that is gone, throw the dice high. Do whatever you like.

yes do what ever you like once you have called an election, won a majority and thus given the mandate. May is going to get pelters from the back benches if she changes core policy that got them in

I am enjoying these top to bottom sackings and resignations in the Tories.

First Cameron, then Osborne and now the rest, i didn't like any of them at all, surely i'm not the only one :)

I dont understand why Hunt is still there, funny one that, i used to like him but gradually went off him.

I like what she has done since becoming PM.

it's not about liking them or not, this isn't a playground. It's about whether they were actually delivering what they were voted in on, and whilst we can all hate on them, the fact remains they were actually doing what they were mandated to do by the public who voted them in. If May is going to rip up the book and start again she has no mandate to do so and thus an election is needed.

I would rather not have more instability and more crashing, just to placate a small slobbering minority.
So no, no election, lets have one in 2020 as planned.
Job done, brexit and now move on.

To all those bleeding hearts banging on about democracy, do you think it democratic if the government makes a massive U turn on key polices they were voted in on without giving the public the democratic right to chose whether that's what they want ?

Because the way May is positioning herself it's effectively what we are about to end up with. So show your democratic balls now and start telling us about "your democracy", or doesn't it suit you now ?

I voted leave, i am not a Tory either, never have been, but i like what i see at the moment.

So no to a GE, and another reason is there is no competition, also if she stands by what she said in her speech she would win a GE anyway.

Here comes Andrea Leadsom :)

Chris Grayling transport secretary, HS2 to be scrapped then ?

Nah, he just abstained right? Doubt he feels strongly enough to scrap it.

Although, one of the reasons it was pushed through in the first place was the EU-wide rail network plan, so who knows.
