would like to replace the virgin router, never been 1 of my favs,
after somthing that has gigabit connection (3 at least) and 5ghz capable wireless too. not bothered on price, just want somthin i wont have to change for a long while.

any thoughts?

If price isn't much of an issue then perhaps look at the linksys E3000, I got a couple of them for a project I was working on and am now using them as my routers and they work great. Simultaneous 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, 4 Gigabit Ethernet ports, USB port for attaching external storage, can run DD-WRT (which I have running on them) to give a ton more options.

They are great routers and if you ever want to get more out of them you can just use DD-WRT which will provide you with far more options than any default router firmware. The main downside is that they are at the higher end of the home user price range (around £100 at the time I got my 2).

thx for the advice mate, may look into the Cisco Linksys E4200 , which im guessin is the latest offering, and only 20 pounds more. reviews seem good and the adapters for wireless i have are 5ghz which is nice
