New car collected!

I drove one of these for about 10 days recently. I actually liked it enough that by the end of it I was considering ordering one!
 
Wow, I'm slightly jealous. That's a smashing deal, can't argue with that, good engine too. I really like the colour as well, much prefer it to the usual, it really suits the car.
 
Gave the wheels a clean last night and a layer of FK1000P to keep them clean. They had already started to collect baked on dust.

It's taking a little getting used to not having the car instantly move off when pressing the accelerator, one of the quirks of an auto.
 
Can't argue with the value for money in the deal! I'm sure there would be a lot of people on here who would jump at the chance to be on the scheme (as it basically works out at £1.5k a year to own a brand new VW Group car).
 
So 3 months in (and 3k miles) and absolutely loving this car, the DSG is fantastic. I'm also surprised at how quickly the car can accelerate considering it's only 180ps - I suspect the fast gear changes help massively in this area. Plenty of torque and grip.

Handling has been really good, the MQB platform is remarkably planted with the suspension setup on this model.

The synthetic engine noise is good, if not a little extreme when going flat out. Makes it sound like a straight 6 while on the outside it doesn't sound so great no doubt :p

Next car has been confirmed:

Audi A1 Sportback 1.4 TFSI Black Edition 185 S tronic in Scuba Blue. Monthly cost is the same I believe as the Seat.
 
You can unplug the synthetic SoundAKTOR if you don't like it, or wire it to a switch inside your bonnet so you could turn it off for long motorway trips.

As I don't own the car I think I'll pass on playing with it.
 
Very smart and nice interior :) I've wanted to switch to a DSG for ages, just can't justify the price over the standard manual.

It certainly looks the part, but why do all car makers insist on making a silly face from the steering wheel and dials? It really gets on my wick.
 
All looks and sounds great apart from "synthetic engine noise".

I know this is becoming more common and I'll have to get with the times but that just seems wrong to me :o

Can't believe BMW have also bought into this pointless gimmick with their Active Sound Design in their M cars.

Unfortunately this seems to be the way with turbo'ed cars now.
 
Now that I like. Love the interior, wish I could get one for £119 pm. Lucky so and so :p

Doesn't matter what they call it. If your employer provides a vehicle for your private use then it's a benefit in kind and you're liable for tax.

If they've found some loophole or scheme which allows them to avoid this liability then I'd be interested to know what it is tbh.

EDIT: Aha, just re-read the OP and linked thread and see how it's working now, as a loan via an employee rather than a car provided directly to them. Interesting scheme.
