New car purchase - Massive downgrade !!!

Although it is nothing short of evil going from a 3.5 V6 to a 1.6 Lolvo at least you didn't make the classic mistake of spending thousands and thousands of pounds extra, to buy a car to save you a few hundred a year. £3200 in your pocket straight away, along with low tax, low running costs and low insurance should see a decent saving.

Not bad :) out of interest, what is the MPG for the Volvo? If i remember Volvo engines of old, they aren't that economical at all. I'm guessing you'll get no higher than 35mpg from that!

gutted for you.

remember when you got your Z and commenting on what a superb example it was.

iirc you walked away with a brilliant deal on it in the first place too.

at least it isnt the same as when i sold my ST to save for my CTR and had a 1.6 megane in the meantime.

utterly soul destroying.

your volvo is a maybach in comparison.

I can see that selling your current car and going for something cheaper to run to save on a house deposit makes sense and is reasonable, so good on you for making the rational decision

What I can't understand is how can you from something as exciting as a 350z to a 1.6L volvo. :(
I mean surely you could have picked up something reliable cheaper than the volvo that had a half decent engine in it... :(

I'll be following come end of this year or start of Spring next year with the s2000 being sold for a bigger house deposit. I'm rather keen on the Volvos we use in work as RRV ( XC70's and V50 ) that have been specced to the hilts, and was wondering if something fell into budget that had some nice interiors, not overly fussed about speed and power as I find the 1.4 306 fine on a drive.

I think it says in the manual 57mpg,even if it is as low as 35mpg it sure beats 18-20mpg ;) just a little less fun.....
