New car time - EV PCP deals?

As a temporary measure ? a car subscription https://www.thecarexpert.co.uk/the-best-car-subscription-providers/

would be £500p/m it seems, so, quickly less economic than a cheap runaround, .. but, no so distant from £350 monthly oulay for tesla.
I looked at these subscription as a means to quickly get a car for a very short term, but it is a very costly way to do it. It wouldn't be so bad if buying a £5k car would cost me £1k in depreciation after a similar time frame, but I really hope that that's not the case...

He is unable to afford anything over £400 including fuel AFAIK, and those prices are crazy

Really?
It's more I'd really rather not lose 25-30% of my salary just to running a car that is largely a means of getting to work; it's quite bitter when you consider it like that. Fuel, maintenance, insurance, car, everything for sub £500 would sit ok with me.

That £375 pcm is based on a longer term. The prices sky rocket when you drop it down to a one month lease... £469 in that example. Where's the lube?! Guaranteed it's not thrown in free!

Did you see the 2 year deal I posed on the Kona earlier? That seemed much more manageable. I did try to PM you but you don't have your conversations enabled it seems. :)
I did mate, yeah. It looked cracking, but I think I've decided I need to play it safe for now, and get a run around until Christmas ish.
Have you got the link again to make sure I'm thinking of the right one?

Gotta love the way they take it to someones nice house to photograph when the car sale place MPS is in a backstreet of Gosforth, makes it look like you are dealing with someone quality, not in a dump.
Yeah I want to read up on the business. There are some freakin' shady dealers out there.

Obviously I won't know where it was taken (might have a snoop on the image exif data) but looking at the location of the garage it's just on a side street near where I work. They probably just take it somewhere nicer to get better photos. This is only a mile from my work so might go take a look tomorrow.

Have you ever looked at a Cazoo ad?

There is a seperate button called 'imperfections' which has literal close ups, with ruler, of every ding, scratch or dent.

It is 10000x better than the garbage incumbent car dealers who sell on AT.

True, but the selection is much smaller and prices are higher. There isn't a single car under £5k on that site.

Now I can't decide on whether to get a true throwaway car for £1k or less or go for something under £6k and keep it longer than originally planned  Problem with the £4k range stuff is they're all at the age where serious work is starting to be needed.

No, stop thinking like this. Plenty of £4k cars will go on for years with basic maintenance.

I bought a £2k diesel Focus, put 40k miles on it in two years, didn't service it once, just put tyres on and it passed every MOT without issue. I got £600 trading it in.
Thanks, I need occasional (regular) shaking back to reality and common sense

Think I'll go kick some tyres on this tomorrow. It's a bit on the high price side compared to market value, but if it's in good nick I could see if I could wangle it down to under £3k
