Hi All,

I mentioned about this in a couple of other threads, but I finally have some pics. ;)

For a while I have been looking for a replacement for my AC Schnitzer 325ci, I was originally looking at Z4s and E92s (new 3 series coupe) but I decided against a Z4 as it was so hard to find one with the options I wanted whereas there were a lot of E92s so I was just waiting for one to come along at the right price.

I go to my local dealer regularly looking at what E92s they have coming in but last week I saw a lovely looking 3.0si sport Z4, slightly dirty and with no for sale sign in. Upon investigation I saw it had navigation, which is really a requirement for me (I love messing around with interfaces, devices etc) so I asked the salesman about it and it had just come in as a part exchange! They weren't that busy so I went for a test drive and I was absolutely hooked. Around the country roads of Burnham Beeches it really handled so well, putting my 325ci to shame (even with ACS suspension). After 30 mins I was finally convinced to head back to the dealer, but stopping off at home to get the missus approval if I could get a good enough deal.

Anyway to cut a long story short and after a lot of haggling I managed to get £1000 off the list price, 12 months free tax, a new centre console top (worth £250), allowed to keep all the extras out of my 2002 325ci like the bluetooth, TV option, LED rear lights, xenons etc and they still gave me £9000 for it! An inspection was needed on the 325ci in 400 miles, MOT running out in 2 weeks and 4 new tyres needed so it really was a good deal for me as I would have had to fork out a lot for the car even if I kept it only for a few more days.

Here are the pics, I know a Z4 is a marmite car so it won't be to everyone's taste but I love the look (of both the roadster and coupe) and the driving experience is right up there with some of the best cars I have driven.

If the front drivers side looks a bit high, it's because of the way I parket it on the incline of the pavement. ;)

Looks smart with those wheels, colour is pretty nice as well.
But is that an Auto? :(

Neil.

Yes, one of my requirements was to have an automatic one. I'm old now, and if I want a truely raw manual car I'll dust off my mk1 Escort. ;)

Stunningly beautiful. Needs a metal roof though ;)
A lot of people knock the auto but it's actually pretty good in the Z4 when matches with the 3.0Si, especially with that wee discreet button to the right of the gear lever.

I hate you right now, I hate you so much. If you have any heart at all you'll take a drive down to Winchester :p At least get some sound clips up, the engine note is sexual!

Congratulations :)

It looks like a BMW

Yes, but it looks like a nice BMW... the Z4 is a lovely looking car to a lot of people.. hell I love them myself..

Why be so negative, get out of bed the wrong side? PMT? ;)

[edit] sorry Fox, I completely failed to spot the irony...

I think it's to do with "It looks like a bmw" being said about a very very powerful twin-supercharged E39 in another thread.

LOVE the Z4 mylself. Very modern looking.

How many miles and how much did it skin you though?

I'm confused at the difference between the 3.0Si Vs the Z4M and why the M is getting stick and people are saying get the 3.0 instead. Did any of you guys pick one over the other?
