New Cards?

So I;ve been out of the game for a while and having played empire total war I dont think my 8800gtx can quite cut the mustard anymore ( well, with EVERYTHING maxed at least)

When are the next batch of cards due and what are they?

What Card would people recommend for an upgrade?

There are various rumors going around regarding directx11 cards & 40nm manufacturing process. I would say around q4 2009 we should see some variation of newer cards.

I would say if ur willing to wait, to go for a card with both of the above, otherwise the gtx260 cards are pretty cheap now if you have the psu to run one.

Would see a big improvement with a gtx 260?

I heard somewhere that certain dx10 hardware will support dx11, im not 100% about this so dont quote me on it

Reckon I could still get close the £300 on there, just wondering if I should do that and get something better in a couple of weeks.

What resolution? the fact is that an 8800gtx can play almost anything at 1680x1050 just fine.

Not anymore it can't. Well, not if you want a silky smooth 60+ frame rate.

You guys reckon the 4890 will be out on thursday? At what cost?

Thursday is the official release date and I heard the price is rumoured around the £230 mark.

10% hopefully more but i doubt it worth it if u have 4870 already to upgrade to 4890 we will see in few days i guess

well if u have old gts might as well wait only 2 days left till release, and if they are overpriced and perform only 10% . then might as well buy cheap 4870.
