New Case Agony

Im having trouble finding a new case thats less than 420mm tall due to the location it will be put in.

It must be stylish and fit into a nice kitchen environment. Can be silver as its next to a silver microwave oven :D

This is what I’m up against.. by the way I used to have my own room till I got married and had kids?.

Still at least I’ve got the fridge and tinnies near by!

An Antec Super Lanboy is 419.1 mm high. It seems perfect for you. You might also consider a SFF case like a V300 or a Sugo. Those would fit with plenty of room to spare.

ATX size cases
lian li a05 - tempting me to make a water-cooled rig when I have the spare cash
lian li g50 - I have one of these as my server, nice case considering the size
lian li v600

All available in black and silver and have dimensions of 210x381x490mm (W,H,D) excet the v600 which is 371 high.

m-atx size cases
silverstone sugo sg01e
silverstone temjin tj08
lian li v300

Theres probably more and thats excluding any of the desktop/media style cases :)

Problem is ive got 'hearing aid beige' ROMs Media drive bays :D

I fancy a case that hides the bays.

Yeh... i did a search and found a video review. Does look good doesnt it.

It says micro atx motherboards only... is the Gigabyte DS3 a micro motherboard?.

Sorry i thought you meant the case was full atx compatible now im sad again :rolleyes:

Shame? as it has all the attributes i wanted ...abit like the Lian Li PC-7 which is slightly too high.

Some of the case here have no height sizes. Im going to have to email overclockers tomorrow and ask them which ones are under 420mm High

My current case is running a standard E6400 @ 50 deg (TAT) and 36-40 with the side off and thats just surfing...

Get the A-05 with bezels for the optical bays, you won't regret it ;)

I have the G50 which is a great case and the A-05 is even higher quality with a better layout.
 
sonyaddict did you actually read my post. I listed 3 lian li cases all of which take full atx motherboards and they all have heights listed (actually the full dimensions) - you can't get any more lian li than a lian li case

I also listed m-atx cases including the tj08!

It does look great only ive got a microwave behind it and the cupboard above houses the combi boiler!... im also exhausting an 8800 GTS OC :eek:

I think a large front intake fan case is the order of the day. Sorry i didn’t mention the exact situation. Everyone’s been real helpful and ive got some great ideas. I’m going to ring overclockers tomorrow and get some specs.

Yes i did. I also noticed the fact that your case (looks awesome especially with the CPU Cooler) Although that setup would be wasted in my room as all that internal eye candy would be facing a wall.

I didnt feel that you were being ignorant, just maybe missed my post.

I also think you may have the wrong idea in relation to the pc-g50. The design of the case has the psu above the cpu cooler and this is all at the bottom. There is a secondary 120mm fan above that which pulls air out of the gfx card area along with a front 120mm fan pulling air in. Theres a space for an 80mm fan at the top.
