Hi to all, I currently have the case in the sig below, a Lian Li PC6089, it has been through quite a lot recently and needs replacing, getting too loud with 4x80mm fans and vibration problems!!!
I am looking at the P180, seems to be very good for quietness but the build quality is believed to be lacking sometimes??
Also considering the V1000, I know it is more expensive but I also have a TR3 which I can use again and also the layout seems to be better. And it is Lian quality!!
One question that I need to ask is how quiet is the V1000, I know it will not be as quiet as the P180 but compared to my old case?? The vibration from my old case is driving my wife mad!!!
It will house the system as per sig, including 2xsata hard drives, one dvd-rw and a 6800gs with Zalman cooler.

A V1000+ would be perfect for your system. What CPU cooler do you have?

The VF700 works wonders with the exhaust side fan on the V1000+, and the sata drives are located on the bottom, and hardly resonate (from what I heard and when my mate ran his).

I have the Artic Freezer 64 pro, cools my cpu no end!!! Just wondering how loud the V1000 actually is, does it suffer from any vibration problems. Read a lot of reviews that said is should not due to thick side panels?

Ouch the freezer,

The problem with that is that it pushes air OUT of the PC, where the exhuast fan on the back of the V1000 is actually the intake. So you will have to change you cpu cooler or move it around.

I reccomend a SI-120 or Zalman 7700/7000 .

Yewen has the case so he can comment on the vibrations etc etc.

I reccomend turning the freezer around 180 degrees, problem solved. No point spending £25-£40 that ya don't need to.

And here I am.

Ok resonation of the v1000+.

Using the hard drives in the bottom caddy, 1x raptor 74gb and a 250gb WD drive. At ful wack running a defrag on both drives, nothing, not even the case vibrating when I touch it.

To MAKE a v1000+ resonate, you need to pull the locking mechanism back, so that the top of the side panel is free to move, then sometimes the case rattles a tiny bit, but touching stops it. (I found this out when I forgot to screw the side panel on :o)

The worst piece of the case for resonation is the Lian Li drive stealth bezel, as when the disk is seaking it can sometimes make a short rattle, I solved this one by moving the drive back a bit more, again my fault not the cases.

They can be made very quiet, although the cooling on them may take you a hour or so to work out which is best for your system.

Very well built, can be a very quiet case and a very good cooler aswell if you put the time into it, as stock or what Lian Li say is not the best for EVERY system, just standard ones.

There are a load of extras with the case to, which some people find confusing but a forum post can sort that out easily :)

www.yewen.co.uk/reviews/v1000+.htm if you want some pictures of mine, the TR3a makes the look of the case though ;)

I would buy one of these over a p180 everytime, just because there literally nothing to go wrong, even the brake for the wheels is a 10 second to completely rebuilt it job, Lian Li at there best in my opinion, and a different class completely to what you currently have even though it is a lian li.

If you have any specific questions on the case, you can buzz me on msn and I will be happy to act as a Lian Li salesman for a while :p

Yewen thanks for that you have just sold the V1000 to me, the missus will be happy that it will not make the whole house shake!!! I have to use my old case for my server??

Erm how do I reply to that......

It is either a embaressed smiley = :o

Or I just do this =

Yeh just the cool :p

I have about £300 burning a hole in my pocket and the v1000+ at this price look great. Let us know how you get on.

(Let me guess, it uses the slide in PSU plate yewen? )

Wow quick bit of ordering, now the important question, are you a vanilla or a b person :p

Silver is the best, shame on you if you went for black :p

What is that refering to Raikiri, sorry im being blind as im quite tired :p

heh, the bit on the back that you screw to the PSU then just slide it into place. Reason I havent bought a pc-007, as my PSU probably would not fit.

Yes it does use one, but I don't :p

The v1000+ can use it, or in the case of my old hiper you can just fit it normally.

If the nobbly thing on your silly PSU is on the bottom, then I am 100% sure you will have 0 issues, as there is a large gap under the PSU :p

It will fit mate, if you want the clearance the PSU casing has from the bottom I can get it for you later on when its light.

Just can not wait to get rid of my v1000+ now :p

(Only joking! Going to try out a S80 when they come out and see how it compares, then decide on which for the main rig, ive had a v1000 of some sorts for 15 months now, which is insane for me. I like to change my case bi-monthly, but there just has not been anything better. I do not like the TJ07 much due to it just pushing a lot of air, the v1000+ and its refined cooling solution are much better I think, just can not beat cooling that at 5v is as good as at 12v with and extra fan :D)

OK... when are you planning on selling? (i'll take it to email)

It was more the sliding it in, as the gap may not be large enough... I will get the PC-007 if it can fit otherwise i'll wait to see what you do with your v1000.

Doubt I will ever sell the v1000+ as it is a somewhat special one now :p

The price they are new, is not worth selling it in my opinion, maybe when they are more pricey due to rarity.

The PC007 should be able to do a rear mounting, or do it the Yewen PC7 with dodgey PSU trick.

  1. Remove backing plate
  2. Place PSU half way out from the inside out, until the fan gets stuck on the inside ;)
  3. Fix the PSU plate on
  4. Push in and secure, and wolla, its in!
  5. For removing it though, you have to sometimes take the DVD drive out, and it should be fitted first when building.

That would get your aero PSU in just fine, and if not I would buy the case off you at retail, if it was a 007 and if they are PC7 price range. :)

I ordered the silver one, of course!!!! Will post pics when the system is all installed. Could never get the black one though just think they do not look as special as silver, just my opinion though!!!
