some of you may have seen my post about the new motherboard/cpu earlier today, basically, im building a new PC, and as a 16 year old who only works saturdays, i need parts as cheap as chips :(
i have been looking at some sites and have found some very cheap drives, but am unsure about the cache and speeds etc
i basically wanna pay £50 or under for a decent 40GB or over drive, any help would be greatly appreciated ;)

thanks

thanks :D they're from OC right?
Yes
Both are SATA 2 capable although the Hitachi defaults to SATA 1 so you can use Hitachi's F Tool to change it (as well as changing loads of other stuff).
I have both of these alhtough larger size models and are both very good.

Or get another drive thats only a tenner more, well if your going to spend sixty then why not £80 or £100.

Because some people want to stick to a certain budget?

Or maybe they are stretched at £60 anyway?

We're talking £3, not £30. You can find £3 under the sofa :p

Anyway, OP has gone for the Samsung so it doesn't matter now.

What im getting at is that when a relatively new person on the forums posts about a max price, people always start to post "well for just a little more you could get this", the line has be drawn somewere and i admit my £52 was £2 over his budget but your sudgestion put it 10% over.

So what? That's what forums are all about - a collection of opinions, suggestions and advice. Most people always help others by suggesting value for money options - in this case, £3 for another 90GB of hard drive space. You make that seem totally unreasonable.
