New Chrome Interface, i hates it!

http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!category-topic/chrome/windows/NzOR_wVBEtI[1-25-false] for complaining about the bookmark spacing, and some suggested solutions.

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\old_chrome.exe" --disable-new-menu-style still works, because old_chome.exe is v27, but you'll need to back that up ready for when the next update happens and old_chrome becomes v28.

Big software companies are beginning to lose the plot. This whole "unified interface" thing is getting out of hand. I'd switch back to Firefox if I hadn't got so used to the seamless Google integration across my devices. That part works well, as does this spacing on my Nexus7. But not on my poxy PCs!</wanders_off_mumbling>

Google are bringing back proper spacing. The new flag is --force-fieldtrials="NewMenuStyle/Compact2/"

"Hi everyone,

Thanks for your continued feedback--we have been reading every one of your posts. As many of you have noticed, we are testing a new experience for context menu layouts, Compact2, which has decreased space between entries. Due to Compact2's success and your positive feedback on this thread about this new UI, we've rolled this menu UI out to 100% of Chrome 29 users and are looking into a solution for current Chrome 28 users.

Thanks again for all your feedback in improving Chrome,
Jacky, Div, and the Chrome Team"

You think that is the worst part of the new chrome updates?

This is by far the worst.

Why do I need another search bar with Google written above it when my address bar does exactly that. Much preferred having the 8 previews of most visited sites!

agreed, but chrome:flags

Enable Instant Extended API change to Disable

also Touch Optimized UI to whichever

Seems the "fix" is now in the current build, all my Chrome installs have gone back to the smaller spacing by themselves this morning.

Mine has too, I think. Can't remember now as got used to the spacing, hated it at first but can't tell now if the spacing is gone or not.

My comment was based on the opening post, in that the op was complaining and saying how much he hated it, from what I could see in the image, the change was incredibly minor, hence my comments and further qualification later asking if it's more than just what's shown in the OP, or if that's the entirety of the change.

if i makes you feel any better i am completely behind you on this. it doesn't take 2 brain cells to see what you were saying in your first post and the op amongst others jumped on you whilst you were only looking for clarification to the issue before posting a reply.

Indeed, but that's no reason to jump on people who don't like something AND provide a fix for others that don't.

Repeatedly saying "I'm struggling to see what the issue is" isn't really any help is it to anyone, is it?

I agree with this. It's a change some people don't like and the OP even posted a fix for those users.

Why moan about it? If you like the change then you can just not apply the fix.

the guy didn't moan, he mentioned he couldn't notice a difference, which clearly meant therefore expand on the issue as it's impossible to help when we can't see what the issue is. some people are dumb

Anyone else's chrome do this annoying thing, when I have a youtube video on and click on a different tab it does a little micro stutter every time I click on a different tab. Never used to do it, really, really annoying.
