New COD4 Maps

I don't think it will be enough to get the masses who will jump to R6V2 back though.

There will still be a huge Cod 4 community it just depends if you like playing randoms or not. I would have kept playing it myself if they hadn't have given me issues with the patch that I didnt like.

The new maps sound good but they will just be sniper fests unless you play S and D which I didnt really enjoy compared to domination or headquaters. Even headquaters got old fast once everyone knew all the locations by heart. Domination needs 5 zones not 3. It would have been 10 times better and would stop the game just being about B and grenades.

Hill was a quality level and i hope to god that is a real map. Would be awesome trying to fight your way across the field up the top then down through the village to the river just like in the SP campaign :D

There are some ace SP maps that would make good MP maps but its a bit of a cheek charging us for them if thats whats going to happen.

Its probably more likely that it would be a mix of new maps and converted SP maps, which would be ok i guess.

I cant see that gamespot link at work, but has any price been announced for these?

Not yet, the preview says an 'unspecified price' and released 'in the coming months'.

snippet about Creek for you:
The second map we played is entirely new, and it's named Creek. But there's a lot more to it than a simple babbling brook. This is a very large-scale outdoor map with a small cluster of houses on one side of it. In the middle, there's a huge ravine circling the perimeter with multiple levels of pathways up its side. Down below, the trail leads along the eponymous creek bed to a waterfall. Elsewhere along the base of the ravine, there's a lengthy and winding cave that cuts underneath the hill then out to the other side. As big as it is, there are a lot of places to go on this map; from prone sniping atop the cliff face to hiding out behind a rock in the tunnel, you never know where an opponent will be attacking you.

Maybe you will later, but if your not paying for them why should you get them at the same time as people paying for content. The answer of course is to give you them for free when they make them free on the consoles.

Its these bloody consoles that mean we have to pay for extra content. With the old CoD's we got extra maps for free - its not like its much trouble to make new levels, i've played a few user created maps that are only a fraction worse in quality than the professional ones

This is true. And I personally, as have others, played user created maps on the PC that are utter tosh and/or aid a particular side thus resulting in unfair matches.

The maps produced are of professional calibre. I personally have no objection in paying for an extention of a game (that I've legally purchase as well ;) ) with official content.

If I have gone out of my way to pay £39.95 for the original game, and enjoyed it to the penny, I certainly have no objection in forking out another £4-£5 for some maps that are made by the same people.

^true, however it can be argued that if they had included those maps with the game originally then you wouldnt have to pay and extra £5 - many games come with more maps than COD4 for *** same price.....

I haven't played CoD4 for a while now and I can't even see myself going back once these new maps appear, especially once R6V2 arrives.

That's because more often than not, a lot of assets are taken from the game and most things aren't user created bar the layout.
