New Colin McRae: DIRT trailer showing some nice crashes

Looks incredible, and the framerate looks a hell of a lot better than the last few vids too, nice and smooth. With visuals like this I'll be happy with 30fps.

Sounds are awesome too.

I'm toally in 2 minds after seeing this:

The visuals are looking great, variety of races & intensely detailed crashes...

Although..

The handling and game itself just look too arcadey, and the detailed crashes are ruined...by driving away..

Definitely going to have to try a demo before i'm convinced on this one!
 
now had a chance to see the vid.

i've never been in any doubt that i'll be getting this on the 360. i'm looking forward to this as much as Forza 2.

just a real shame there is no online play to speak of.

It is the R4 which is Colin McRae's custom built Paris to Dakar Rally car. If it is the red one that you are talking about.

Last i heard was that online was basically a case of racing against other peoples times. As in, you are racing on the track on your own (at the same time as others), but timing will be shared so you know where you are in the pack and how far ahead/behind you are of the leader.
That is perfect for me as it like a proper rally game. Whilst it would be nice on some of the other modes to be able to bump people off the track and such, it is no big loss. Especially for someone who is used to playing Trackmania :)

It was the white/green/red one I was refering to originally(looks like the old celica castrol paintjob). It does look like a smart, wasn't so sure. (thanks for letting me know what the red one was though, I assumed it was a citreon lol)

I just watched the video to see which one you mean.

The second car looks like a modern Lancia to me but it is an Alitalia (Italian Airline) Stratos. Designed by Fenomenon Holistic Design apparently.

The Lancia i was thinking of is in fact the Lancia Stratos, so either this is a modern take on that or it is a Lancia as well that is designed by who i mentioned.

Edit: Looks like it is definately a Lancia Stratos updated by Holistic design for a concept car that is now going in to pre production with Prodrive
