Hi :),

I'm looking for some help in trying to spec a new computer base for around 950-1000.

Is this list at the bottom reasonable? Any issues with the GFX card ?

Usage.
Primarily it will be used for unity dev, which requires at least 16 GB. (Unity takes around 14GB when importing), I'll also be giving fallout 76 a go when that comes out but the quality doesn't have to be max.

CPU
Ryzen 5 , 6 core @ 3.9 GHz , guessing this will good enough in 3 years time for most stuff. I like that the AMD runs at a lower temp and multiple cores are probably going to be great for unity's new gfx improvements happening over the course of this year/next.

Memory
16 GB minimum prob 3000Ghz is best?

GFX
The GFX card doesn't have to be the best but reasonable, I'm really looking to have a low end card in around 3 years time. I'm guessing 4GB since I generally work with 2 screens from one GFX card, one 2560x1440 and one 1920x1080. I'd also want to be able to test stuff at 2560x1440 to see what my stuff will look like on "higher end" systems.

Hard drives
The 240 GB SSD will be for operating system and virtual memory only.
I'll be adding in another 500GB SSD for dev work.(Which I already have)
The 2 TB is for storage.

OS
Windows 10 - since M$ decided to remove windows 7 support.

Not self building.
I'll be getting it built by overclockers and will probably not change anything for a while (Except for adding in the hard drive), maybe the GFX card eventually and maybe more memory at some point when/if the prices ever drop.

@toads

Might be able to get windows to build without activating windows and buying CD key for £20 off online .

Mobo comes with 256GB SSD and can ask them to activate StoreMI to combine with HDD for large fast hybrid drive

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £898.49 (includes shipping: £12.60)

32GB of ram , 3000hz so shouldn't run into to much issue

Thanks that looks great much better spec for the same price :)

Now to wait for Friday... when I can order it :D

no worries, drop overclockers a message in their thread section with this thread or give them a call . you'll find 1050/ti shouldn't budget in price with incoming next gen as they are flagships with a high price tag
