New computer help/advice

How about purchasing an OC'd mobo bundle and then buying a case, psu, gfx card etc. The motherboard bundles are tested so they should be working a ok.

You could assemble yourself but an independant computer tech would easily assemble it in the time frame stulid posted. Get a quote and post it and we can say if they are taking the michael

Ahh right I see i guess they would expect more than £50 for that + the warranty from OCUK would be worth the extra couple of quid Thank's a lot for the help and advice Stulid

So would you recommend I buy http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-175-
With the W7 Home package

Any point in the Crossfire addition?

Your link doesnt work , just goes to the homepage,

But if you mean this - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-175-OE

with Win7 Home? then its got your name written all other it.

No point in the Crossfire option unless you have a really high resolution monitor? if the PC starts to struggle in 4-5 years time, just buy a second hand ATI 6950 2GB card and add it along side the existing card.

Sounds like he cant/isnt confident enough etc

I got a felling their bill will take the **** and what if it takes them longer? my estimate on time was just to build it, installing the operating system/drivers etc will add another 1hr+

Yea that's it missed the last 2 letter's for some reason...
Again thank's a lot for the help and advice you should talk to the management see if you can get some kind of commission :D

if you ask in the customer service section really nicely 5UB could give you a quote for someone building a PC for you out of whatever bits you want, then posting it to you :)
(you may have to put the graphics card in yourself, but that would be the same with any prebuilt computer from OcUK)

i'm taking a guess here, but i expect the labour cost will increase the price by about 20%, so this is probably what i'd ask for:

As i said stulid I do agree with you. Just exploring the options that's all. It's whatever the OP is comfortable with I suppose.

I've been away a while but I remember stulid and he always gives excellent advice on building systems and troubleshooting advice. I seem to recall him offering to build a rig for a local member once.....not suggesting he will for you mind, thats between you two lol

I did build it, did you see the build log?

In this case the "Ultima Mosasaur" is the best option, even including trying to buy individual bits and get them banged together by some pc shop, their hourly rates could be £25+, may not want too touch parts not supplied by them etc etc.

if he lives close by,west country bristol etc i am always happy to help build it.

No i didn't pal. Like i said i've been away a while. Got annoyed with "big whines" trolling and been busy with work and moving homes. I'm sure it was a sterling system though.

I know it sounds like i'm brown nosing u lol but credit where it's due and the OP is new so won't be aware of your expertise

That's boss fella!

Especially like the colour coded look, couldnt have done better myself. A good rounded system. Did you OC the 6950 to close to 6970 spec. Sorry OP don't mean to get this thread off topic.....maybe you could get lucky and live near stulid. Think of him as our resident A team lol
