New Computer Isn't Starting - CPU Was 45Degrees In Bios & Now It Wont Even Go To BIOS

I think I have found the problem!

The rubber washers that abit gave me, I put them on the top side of the mainboard between the screw and the mainboard, I took them all out and put them between the stud and the bottom of the mainboard and it booted first time. Hopefully that is it sorted, so thanks for the link to abit foum, thats were I read the tip from.

Never heard of needing rubber washers between m/board and case screws before :confused:

do all the screws line up with the holes if so it shouldnt short out the board. Anyway glad your up and running have fun

Also just found it doesn't work with two sticks of memory, would increasing the voltage help?

Yes increase to 2.1volts.

I put it .5 volts higher and it works now so it is now at 1.85, is it better to have it at 2.1v anyway?

Its designed to run at 2.1 so yes it wont do it any harm.

Ok thanks very much for all your help, I got the system up and running now with vista and everything loaded and voltage is set at 2.1.

You need to make sure that the motherboard is running the latest bios as it was shipped with a beta one. There is also a conflict between Vista and that motherboard, something to do with the vga aperture. Google for abit.care, there are loads of problems reported on there.

if its working fine then i wouldn't...sometimes you can end up with more problems that you started with
