new computer - many problems.....

trying to install vista x64 and im struggling to get it sussed. Its an ASUS rampage forumla motherboard with two 750gb samsung sata harddisks.

first attempt: RAID0
gets to partition part of vista installation but will not partition. Comes up with a number of different errors. i have tryed to install new raid controller drivers and the BIOS is correct though. Sometiems when booting up the PC the RAID boot screen says Status: Failure.

second attempt: RAID1
tested this and didnt even bother trying to install windows. When booted it would always say Status; Degraded on the RAID boot screen.

third attempt: IDE
last ditch attempt here. Get to the partition part of vista installation but moans that the device is not bootable. Will create a partition but once the partition is created it says that does not fit the requirements.

im lost, help lol

update: IDE

removed one of the harddisks and it has started to install as IDE with one disc. I still want to run RAID0 so possible faulty harddisk?

Did you set the jumpers on the drives to Master and Slave respectively?

No master/slave jumpers for sata drives. There may be jumpers for sata 1 or sata 2 though, not sure about samsung drives.

After setting the BIOS to RAID did you fo into the RAID boot menu on start up, you have to press control I and setup the disc you want raided.

(The RAID boot manu comes up after the boot information)

yes i have done that, created the raids i required
