New computer, Sub £700

Without sounding rude, this thread seems like a partial waste of a time, unless others have the same budget then these machines specced could be useful for others.

It's best to start planning your PC a week or two before you're gonna buy it all to consider your options at the time. Things could change quite a lot in that time, just look at how HDD prices shot through the roof last year as an example.
 
If I look earlier I can have a better idea of the components, which ones are good, which are bad. I hope God is not planning more floods.

I see where you are coming from, although it's not a waste of time. The OP needs to understand why we make the choices we do, then he can make a better spec himself. If people want specific parts that's ok but exploiting the daily and weekly offers is how you get the best bang for buck.

November is quite a way away so no, I won't be spec'ing anymore systems for the OP till much nearer the time. Hopefully by now he can see how we "jiggle" things around to suit a budget.
