Not sure where to post this, but i recently bought a new computer (already built):

Sigma Orca Gaming Case
580W Hyper Type-M PSU
E8400 @ 3GHz CPU
Intel Stock CPU Fan
Asus P5N-D 750i MOBO
2GB PC6400 DDR2 800 Mushkin RAM
BFG 8800GT 512mb OC
250GB Hard Drive
HP 22" W2207H LCD Monitor
Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit
Standard speakers/mouse/keyboard

For a total of £830 including shipping.

What do you guys think of the price?

Furthermore, if i was to SLI would i need a better PSU and better fan/casing or is this enough.

Also, would it be worth upgrading ram to 4GB OCZ SLI Ready.

(Im not going to overclock)

Thanks
Dan.

Welcome to the forums, it isn't too bad a price considering it is pre-built although you could have built it yourself cheaper and I don't have a clue about the case or what that is worth.

If going for SLi then a better PSU might be a good idea although in theory it should cope.

If you do choose to upgrade the Ram then you won't be able to access all 4gb due to an inherant limitation of 32bit OSes but you should still see some benefit from the upgrade.

Hi Dan,

How's the asus p5n-d going for you? I'm thinking of getting one for an upgrade (and a 8400), it's great for the price but I was worried about the close proximity of the PCI-E slots because there is not much air for the top graphics card if going down the SLI route, could use a fan to blow some air in the small gap I suppose.

the price you paid isn't bad, I'd say that's a fair price, especially if you had a store/someone build it for you.

You would need a better PSU for SLI for 2 8800gt, the hiper 580w isn't man enough, I have that same PSU and I love it, one of the best investments I ever made imo.

you can check from a range of sli certified psu's at the nvidia site: http://www.slizone.com/object/slizone_build_psu.html

you can select from the drop down menus of your graphics card and view the psu models, there's some hipers there ;)

I wouldn't bother with another 2gb of ram in 32bit OS, save your money. It would only add to power and heat.
