Hi all

I'm looking at getting a new computer soon, and look at spending around 2k, I used my computer for Games :P but mostly I use Photoshop for editing DLSR images (and some times hand drawn tattoo's) and I also do allot of VMWARE test labs for work... and also like to listen to music while I do this

My Old system is as follows: -
Intel Core 2 Quad @ 2.4GHz
4.00GB RAM (maximum MB can take)
500GB HDD (RAID 0)
Geforce 8800 GTX
Creative SB X-Fi (5.1 Speakers)
2 Monitors (1680x1050 and 1280x1024)
Windows 7 Ultimate (Give to me from Microsoft so coming with me)

This system has lasted me about 3/4 years and would like the same for the new one?

My Question is what type of system can I get for 2k, I can build it my self if it works out cheaper on OC than getting one of there prebuilt systems?
(if I'm allowed to say that):D

Any help much apreciated...

P.S are having a Solid State Hard Drive Upgrade much of a performance increase?

Do you really need to upgrade? Are you experiencing slow downs?
Yeh SSD's are reallly good from what i have heard maybe just get one of those for your most used apps + windows and just stick with what you have?

overclock ur q6600 to at least 3 ghz should be easy even for novice overclokers , and upgrade ur graphics card. you dont need all new computer

Maybe just get a new motherboard then? that supports more than 4gb ram?
But if you do want to get a new pc i would recommend the i7 or Phenom II x4/x6
