hey all! After getting pink screens/hard crashes in games and finally blue screens i've got enough money for a new computer \o/

I mainly play world of warcraft/fps/strategy games.

Could someone pick me a computer, already built or from the system configurator. I really dont have the time or knowledge to buy the parts seperate and build it myself.

I have a budget of £1300. I could probably add another £200 if needed. I dont need a monitor/mouse/keyboard but i do need speakers. IF you could add a monitor that would be fine but i'd rather just have the tower with "kickass" parts and i could buy a monitor at a later date. Im not really into SLI anymore, this system i have now is SLI and it caused more problems than good. but an option to go SLI in the future would be nice to have.

thanks in advance!

Have you any sata hdd/dvd you can reuse. Do you also need an OS? Do you also need a case and if so, any particular type.

thanks stulid!

Idleman, I do have stuff i could resue but i'd rather get brand new gear. ssd would be great and i really like the haf-x case. I think i'll go with what stulid said unless you have any other suggestions. This pc will probably be my last one for 5years or so(growing up sucks!!)

When it arrives is there anything i need to do other than connect and switch on? Never used overclockers before

Not 100% sure about this, but you may have to attach the cooler to it (removed to stop damage during transit I think)

For a 100% accurate answer please use the customer service section of the forum.

I've love to build my own. When i get the new pc i will pull my old one apart and play around with it! but at the mo, even installing a new gfx worries me :>

Too late, i just bought this pc :>

I've just been told by a friend that i would need to apply new thermal paste to the cpu every 6-12months or it would fry at that speed, is this true? Do i even need 4.5? I'd much rather have the standard 3.4ghz and it be safe for a long time.

It is best to change every 6-12 months but dosent need to be. my dad was running his comp for 3 years before he changed his. also with the cpu cooler that comes with that, the heat on the cpu should be fine.

download coretemp when you get pc to keep an eye on heat.

there will most likely be a profile in your bios that will let you turn cpu down to 3.4 ghz and then you can go back to 4.5 if you want. however it is more than safe to run that at 4.5 otherwise OC wouldnt sell it like that

and they stress test all systems anywho to ensure they are safe.

ps changeing thermal paste is easy. take 20 mins to remove cooler, put paste on andd put cooler back on. i wouldnt worry about it.

Hey again. Was expecting PC to arrive sometime today but was told it failed testing and will not be ready for shipping till monday-ish. As this is the first time i've bought a whole system from here i'm now a tad nervous. Im sure they would have just replaced the part that failed and not tweaked it or something.

Any reassuring words? :o

Patience. They will not send it out if it is not a 100%. Maybe the OC just failed the stability test. Just ask in the customer services forum for more info on the situation.

As they say with most builds they stress test every system for 8 hours to ensure they dont fail

if i was ordering a one and it failed, i would prefer them to replace the part then do stress testing all over again to ensure it was 100% working rather than quickly throw part in and ship hoping its ok even if it meant waiting an extra few days.

you should be glad they owned up to failure and are taking the correct steps to ensure the computer you get does not fail in any way.

when my mate bought his pre built from overclockers the cpu cooler came attached but the graphics card was not as it can be easily damaged if knocked about. his cpu cooler wasnt large though.

with regards to thermal paste you only need to replace it if you start getting temperature problems. my mate has had his computer at 4.4ghz from ocuk now for over 6 months and hasnt had any issues with heat or instability

afternoon!

My computer has just arrived \o/ im guessing windows is installed on the SSD, but i cannot find my normal hdd? Could someone gimmie a hand please! im a complete *** at these things :/
