New Conroe Reviews Including 6800

Ok mate thanks for clearing that up. I guess I might have to buy a new psu aswell then... sheesh. :rolleyes:
 
yeah shoulda said Conroe compatible p/s, looking at some now..

That FSP Sparkle FX700-GLN Epsilon 700W ATX2.0 PSU looks ok and well balanced price @ £112 or the Tagen 900 watter @ £164.

Id guess a lot of folk will be looking for 4 pin mainboards, does anyone actually know if theres a difference maybe the 8pin mobos provide further stability for overclocking?

Just saw this on the FSP website

'8 Pin 12V which supports double CPUs and supplies stable voltage'

Guess it is for overall more stability/And higher overclocking?!
 
With this review, I now plan to get the E6400 and clock it to E6600 speeds. Once the price of DDR2@800MHz comes down, I'll be able to get 3GHz out of it.
 
Wow this really shows the conroes power. Even more apparent in games. :eek:

Also it shows during normal use 4MB cashe is only a tiny advantage. With gaming the extra cashe is giving a 9% to 16% lead. I think thats reason enough to try and stretch for the E6600 with 4MB L2.

I want conroe so bad! :eek: :D
