New contract time PS3 ?

Hi, my mobile phone contract runs out in about 2 months time with Orange.

Now I have been with Orange for about 10/11 years or so.

I get my free Broadband through them as used to be with Freeserve/Wanadoo and then Orange bought them or something so I get the internet free through my Orange phone contract.

I am on Dolphin 35 tariff (18 month) I presently have a Nokia N73.

Now I have seen offers in the papers and on the internet (CPW for 1) which include a Playstation 3 etc, or Nintendo Wii, etc etc. On Orange, same tariff. I should still get my internet free shouldn't I? as I will then still be with Orange again.

Is there any "catch" about these so called free PS3 etc ? there contracts are 18 months, same tariffs, free handsets, connection etc ?

I went into the shop to try for one of these deals and they said it would take 28 days for the "free gift" to be delivered.

If they are out of stock, they give you something of "equal value" which I assume could be anything (depending on what they consider to be equal value).

I would be gutted to be thinking I was getting a PSP and end up with a pink Nintendo DS

you will have to take out the contract with the said company (e.g cpw) so that will probably cause problems - i.e. you cant transfer your number orange to orange, you might get disconnected from your broadband and have to restart it with your new contract, etc, etc.

on top of all that, what the above guy said stands too!

The catch is you pay £40 a month = £720

For a low end phone. SO basically you're paying for the console in the price.

Well I used CPW as a EG, I have found various phones that I am quite happy to upgrade to, ie: Viewty, N96, N73 Black etc all on the Dolphin 35 tariff. Thats why I was Curious.

ditch that now, Orange dont do free internet anymore for new customers, only excisting.

as has already been said, these "Free" gifts work out to be much more expensive than getting a cheaper contract and buying the thing.

The gift is never free, Ive seen contract for X a month with y min and z txt and free phone, then same contract same phone but now you pay £299 up front as well but you do get a 'free' ps3.

if your lucky you may save 10-20 quid but do you really want what ever the free gift is.
