hey guys, i asked for your advice the last time i built a computer and it has performed admirably. However the time has come for a change and i once again turn to you, the gurus of Ocuk to offer advice and suggestions, so without further ado, here goes:

-Asus P5E Deluxe Intel X48 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
-Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 LGA775 'Wolfdale' 3.00GHz (1333FSB) - Retail
-Corsair 4GB DDR2 XMS2 Dominator PC2-8500C5 TwinX (2x2GB) Supplied with Airflow Fan (TWIN2X4096-8500C5DF)
-BFG GeForce 9800 GTX H²OC "WaterCooled" 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail
-Tagan TG900-U88 900w BZ-Series Modular PSU
- 2x Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM
-Thermaltake VA7000BWA Shark Aluminium Full Tower - Black
-Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Fatal1ty Professional Series 7.1 Sound Card - Retail

and now my proposed cooling:
-Swiftech Laing D5 Vario MCP655 12 VDC Pump
-DangerDen RBX Block (LGA775 Processors)
-Thermochill PA120.2 120mm Double Radiator
-XSPC Single Bay Reservoir - Black

that is what i am currently planning, i have all the peripherals i need so thus more money gets to be spent on the base unit...YAY.

Now i will admit that i know jack **** about water cooling, but have decided that i want to try it (am bored of fans not achieving results) so therefore i turn to you for help. is what i have spec'd for the cooling going to be enough for the system above? and indeed will the case have enough space for it? is the reservoir big enough? how much coolant liquid should i use? how much pipe? etc etc. so please help a cooling n00b out. much thanks

Regards Mippie

Drop the RBX block for a D-Tek Fuzion v2 or an EK Supreme. The rest of it is grand.

Get 3 or 4 meters of the Masterkleer 7/16" tubing and use 1/2" barbs all round. The Feser One coolant is much loved, tho it's debatable whether it's any better than plain DI water. One bottle should be more than enough.

I've no idea if it'll all fit inside that case tbh.

Not a cooling related observation but 2x 250GB 7200.10s will cost you £75.18 whereas a 500GB 7200.11 will only cost you £58.74 and has twice as much cache :)

okay thanks a lot, its reassuring to see that im not being a complete numpty lol. meh, the twin HD's arent necessarily needed but i thought i would use one for windows/ games, and the other for file doc and pics.

Not sure if you intend to use XP or Vista but I know for a fact that XP gives you the option to partition your HD when you're installing it so I'd just go down that route personally but of course it's up to you!
