Got a DFI infinity 975X/G mobo and a E6600 core 2 all bought recently from OCUK. I have stuck it all together but when I power up I get nothing at all!!??

I have a antec case with a true power 550 Watt PSU. I have 2x 1900 XT ATI graphix cards and 2 GB Geil RAM. 2x HDD (320 GB SATA).

Am I required to just install one of the required power leads to the mobo (ATX) and/or the other 8 pin (12V) one?

Need help urgently

could also b u psu, Dfi boards real fussy when comes 2 psu.
just install PSU, G card & 1 stick of ram, c if that works, saves putting everything in , just 2 take apart again.

make sure all power leads r secure

Plug both in or the mobo won't work correctly and could damage your cpu.

im really supprised on some people these days... my mate does this every time he rebuilds his rig... he forgets the "other" power lead and then wonders why it doesnt work.

Both of these is he asking about, if so ..yes.

Cheers Guys. I am up and running now. Machine is great, been a while since I bought the bits for a Intel rig (AMD machines for the last 5 years).

Is there a reason why the NB (I believe) does not have a cooler on it but the SB does. Looks like it can't have because the grafix cards get in the way.

I will post some pics of the rig.

I have the same problem - DFI Infinity 975X/G, Conroe E6600, 2gig OCZ Titanium Alpha XTC (not cheap)... all just purchased from OC - power up and get nothing... all my power leads are plugged in correctly and I have a 600 Watt OCZ GameXstream PSU which should be more than capable. Just about to run out to pickup a cheap LGA775 Celeron and cheap ram to test it... pretty sure its either the BIOS not supporting the C2D or the board has issues with faster OCZ RAM as both of these have the same symptom as I'm getting with this board.

Oh as to the SB not having a heatsink - I believe thats a ceramic heatsink on there - had me wondering at first.

ugh good news and bad news...

board boots fine with a generic stick of PC4300 DDR2, and everything else I bought seems to work fine (big relief when you've blown a total of £2500 on new hardware)

bad news is either the board doesn't work with the OCZ Ti RAM :( or the RAM is DOA :( as I have no way to tell I guess I'm gonna have to get it exchanged for something else...

Its the northbridge that has the heatsink, and the southbridge thats tucked away underneath the graphics card slot.

Intel southbridges run cool, and dont require any cooling.
