NEW CORSAIR PROFESSIONAL SERIES™ GOLD AX HIGH PERFORMANCE POWER SUPPLIES - PRE ORDER

What an odd thing to post. But I guess it's ok if a Don does it as opposed to the other way around... :)

No I'm just suggesting your in a bad mood. Why are you so opposed to these PSUs? Have they absused your family? Or caused a meltdown in your house?

It just seems your reaction to the PSU was rather much. If you do no like the PSU then fair do's don't be ruining the fun for everyone else.

I'm sure I am not on my own here.

Well done Corsair. They could have been cheaper, but hey, in term's of quality there isn't a lot else they could have done to up the bar.

Personal attacks shouldn't be in here though Nath :-) He was just been sarcy.

I got an 850 on this week only and it is superb..... Not sure if this helps but there is certainly nothing "bad" I can say to try and put you off it.

I have had my AX850 a week or so now.

At first it was perfect, no problems whatsoever.

Turned my computer on this morning and it has developed a horrible hissing sound, its just idling, not under load and is the loudest component in my case!!

Hmmmm Corsair..

Guys what are your thoughts... This is my current scenario....

My server which i fold on is currently I7 980x OC custom water with one GTX 460... I have 2 more uninstalled... Current draw is 300w but im worried about the amps....

PSU is corsair 850x

Gaming rig is phenom 965 OC and GTX 295.... PSU is bequiet 450...

Now im thinking of replacing this with the 850 from the server and putting the server up to 1200w....

Does it need it though (1200w corsair AX)

If it doesnt i will happily leave it, just not sure...

I wonder how much it actually costs Corsair to make these in the first place? I do actually agree with nlr, I want my case to be something special, to stand out rather than blend in. Thats why I got myself a HAF 932 and am about to mod a window and some CCFLs in there. Bring on the bling!

And thats another thing, I would have got the 600T if it had a window!

the server has more than enough amps, tbh I'd switch the 450 PSU with the 850 because your gaming rig is the one that needs the stronger PSU

^ oh sorry I read that wrong I thought that was one 460, you should still be okay with 850 watts but yeh go ahead and grab an AX850 or 1200 for it and put the old 850 in the gaming rig

Function over form IMHO. Hyper Type R's were very bling, till they went boom. But hey, do it your way ;)

xD Exactly what I have found, especially with fans. I just mod stuff now. Get a quality fan and add my own LEDs or cut my own window in a quality case.
