Hey im looking for a little advice between Air and an All in one Water solution for my CPU, So spec me which ones best tbh

I currently have a AMD Phenom Triple Core Processor 2.3GHZ (Stock speeds) On an Artic cooler 7 Pro Rev 2. I know its moved or something as temps have shot from 38 degrees idle to 50 idle. Not happy

Looking at upgrading to an i5 2500k or the newer IB Version later this year also so if it can be re-used all the better!

Budget of 40
Used in a CM-690 II Lite case with no side fans :)

My friend just got to around 4.2Ghz under 70 degrees using his Arctic Cooling freezer 7 so should be fine so long as you have the intel brackets. And that your RAM will fit under it.

I'm getting 28/34 idle with my 2600k at 4.4Ghz using a Corsair A50 with a Gentle Typhoon AP-15 on it. Pretty good and rather cheap, I should have gotten the A70 personally as I have 2 spare AP-15s in a draw haha.

Ive got 5x BitFenix Spectre's so i got enough fans

An A50 Would mount facing upwards :( Which sucks tbh. What about a H80?

I'd stay away from the corsair water coolers, I've had nothing but trouble from them and so have many others. I've had 4 since January. Maybe have a look at the Antec coolers?

All overshoot my budget by far, try a mid-range cpu cooler ;D Im not overclocking i just want silent and for it not to hit 50 at idle

CM612S for less than £40 from OCUK although it's currently out of stock.

Also guys, a better alternative to the A50 and the Gelid is the Alpenfohn Triglav.

Get the Alpenfohn Triglav over the A50 if your budget is only £25. I would recommend the Thermalright TRUE Spirit 140 for around £35 but it's not on sale on OCUK.
