Hello

I have an ASUS A8 N32 SLi Deluxe motherboard 939 socket
currently running twin sli with 3 G ram and an xp 3500 @ 10% OC 2.42 Ghz

i aim to fit a new AMD 4400 64 twin core Toledo 2M cache 939 socket
I have updated the bios to latest version 4

my questions = will the new CPU work ok ? do i need to re set my bios to default? before putting the new processor in- or any thing else?

thank you in anticipation for your kindness
and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Welcome to the forums :)

Yes just reset the bios before installing new cpu. There is also a dual core patch from ams site but it debatable wether its needed or not.

Happy new year :)

No - depends on program(s) your running etc

To be sure you'ld have to run machine/program with & then without the optimiser - I have not done this myself as a little time consuming:D

Bit of a faff installing/enabling & uninstalling/disabling each time !

My own experience was that loading and running the optimiser program appeared to make things run smoother and some of the 'slowness'/'glitches' that I had been suffering from disappeared.AND I have not had any problems from running it.

It runs permanently on my machine.

My advise would be download it ; run without for a few days then install and run for a few days with - if you don't like it then uninstall.

Do try it with/without the optimser program in Supreme Commander which if memory serves me correctly is dual/muti core optimsed.(if I'm wrong about Sup. Com.; my apologies - any game that was written with dual/multi core in mind will do)

I found the thread below interesting
