I currently have a Intel Q6600 @3Ghz on a Xfx Nforce 680i SLI motherboard 8gb ram, and 2x Nvidia GTS250 SLi.

I'm wanting to upgrade. I play BF3 and FSX and I will want to play MS flight if it ever comes out!!

BF3 can be a bit patchy at the moment on med specs.

Idea 1. Buy
-Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz
-Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 Intel Z68 or Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3P Intel Z68
-Kingston HyperX Genesis 12GB
Keep the two GTS 250s for now

Idea 2. Buy

-HIS ATI Radeon HD 6950 IceQ X Turbo 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

or does anyone have any other ideas, or of course wait longer altogether?

My budget is around £350

Please help Thanks

I would buy the motherboard and new CPU now since nVidia have new cards due out in the new year so prices on the 5 series should drop a little so you could maybe pick up a GTX570 instead of the 560 :)

Was thinking more on the ATI than the NVidia, But do you think the motherboard route will be a worthwhile upgrade? will I notice much diffrence?

Tough one really, BF3 is heavily GPU dependant, so if you want to max it at 1080p, you will need a decent card. FSX on the other hand is CPU (I think) so you would see a massive improvement moving to the I5K setup.

I think your best bet would be to buy the gfx card now and also get a decent cpu cooler and overclock your cpu as much as possible
