New CPU... should I wait for conroe.

My ATI AMD Skt939 board cost ~£140 inc VAT. There are cheap and expensive boards for both platforms - it depends on the chipset and features etc.
Correct me if I am wrong here - but as I understand it, the cheapest current Intel board that will support Conroe is around £120.
Where as a good AMD skt939 can be had for £40.

Correct me if I'm wrong but should you really worry about mobo prices when you can't actually buy the processor! :D

I mean come on - there's bound to be MUCH more choice of mobos nearer the time.

If, in 3 months time, £120 is still the cheapest mobo that supports Conroe, then I'll be very surprised!! ;)

Exactly.

Well, gaming is important to me but so is money. Im a student so its not like I get a nice wage in the bank every month is it, I just cant afford to keep upgrading like that.

I am going to get the best I can afford at the time because if I leave the money in my bank it will get spent.

Like i said I think waiting till conroe + boards are released is the best idea.
