Hello there
Its been a while, upgraded my grahics card to a xfx 4850, got 4 gigs of memory and 64 bit Vista but my e2140 @ 3 ghz is getting a bit long in the tooth and was looking at upgrading my cpu
My motherboard is a P35 DS4 r1.1 and running on bios 14c so it can run all the new CPU's. Not sure if its the motherboard or the CPU but 400 fsb is what i am looking around getting out of it.
I got about 120-150 to work with, i mainly use it for games and encoding. I dont need a quad as i encode films with CCE and it only uses 2 cores
Would i be better with a e7500 with its x11 mutli and see how much i can get out of it or a e8400 with a x9 multi and 6mg cache. As its a older board i havent got all the goodies in my bios like the newer boards and might effect how much i can get out of the CPU for a 24/7 clock
Thanks for any advice and tips
