New CPU Upgrade.

An R9 290 doesn't really need upgrading, most will lag *just* behind a 970 but will eat 1080p for breakfast, and even cope with 1440p on their own. I'd agree, grab a nicer set of peripherals (keyboard/monitor/mouse/headset/speakers) instead, your current system is still a beast for gaming!

Thanks. My monitor is a Samsung 27D850D 27" Widescreen LED Professional/Gaming Slim Bezel Monitor - Black

Ah yeah that's a nice monitor it looks like. What other peripherals, keyboard/mouse/headset?

So get a new graphics card you say then ? :D

Haha :D, yeah not yet the 290 is up there with other current cards. Best to wait until the decent stuff drops later this year. GM200 / 390X will give a nicer jump in gaming performance than upgrading your CPU. Then next year Skylake -K.

Ok thanks, you know what it's like when you get the itch to try and make your specs better :D

There you go, go for a new keyboard and mouse. Trust me I get the same feeling every time a 970 deal is on to replace this 670, but it plays BF4 at high preset so all is good haha. Get a nice mouse + mechanical keyboard, after all what are your hands interacting with most of the time? ( :p )
