New Crucial MX100 SSD's Due in today.

I just ordered one, might get another later on and raid them, still need half my components. The price/performance seems like a massive win on the 512GB drive.

+1 on sorting out the NI postage price im sure overclockers lose a lot of trade from us guys over here

I live in Northern Ireland and get free postage on items up to £30.00. Anything beyond that will cost for a courier at around £10.00. Not that bad really. We do live on an island I'm afraid.

Really I've never had free postage although I'm not sure if I've bought anything less than £30 of them. Going to be ordering some tubing and fluid of them this week for my water cool build so hopefully get free delivery

Remember these also use more expensive MLC NAND too unlike the 840 EVO,have a higher capacity, arecheaper and even have an enterprise inspired feature called RAIN.

price on that 512GB is excellent. if i didnt recently get a 250 for £70 or so i wouldve order that one

Ordered a 512GB one of these after thinking about the Plextor M2 for quite a while but I don't think the Plextor will be twice as good for over twice the price of the MX100.

Nice prices on these.

I'm sure ill get slated for saying this but:

For the most normal OCUK users wont be able to find a real world differance between this and a Samsung Evo.

Having just gone from a Crucial M4 120GB to a Samsung Evo 250GB I really couldn't tell the difference and there was a generation between those two.

I don't know I have both the Samsung Evo 250 and the older M500, did try the Crucial as a OS drive when I first got it, I could notice a slight difference. However I'm aware that my crucial is not the M100 also I would say that the difference is not enough to warrant the price increase between the two.

Very good prices at the budget end of performance SSD's. Can see these being very popular for those who aren't too fussed about benchmarks. Perfect as secondary/games drives. Hopefully we'll see a few more price drops on the higher end SSD's to compete.
