it would be quite a jump for me going from an:
FX5200 to Quad SLI

2.16GHz AthlonXP 3000 to E6600 Conroe

512MB single channel to 2GB Dual Channel RAM

but, im going to be patient and wait for the game to come out and dx10, vista and the new hardware before i build my first computer

all that just to play this game, and f.e.a.r, at the moment f.e.a.r looks like doom 1 with worser graphics

when i first saw this i was like OMG then its got EA branded all over it, so i aint getting my hopes up that much anymore

EA publish many, many games and not all are crap. Why does it make a difference who makes the packaging? Because that's essentially all EA are doing.

By the time this is out... E4200 will be out, DS4 would have dropped in price, ddr2 800mhz will be about £100 for 2x1gb and DX10 cards will be out.

E4200 - £90~
DS4 - £100
2X1GB - £100
Mid-High end DX10 card - £200

The E4200 only has an 800mhz FSB so the RAM (even cheap stuff) would allow for at least 3.6ghz if the CPU can do it... who needs to spend 3k?

EA?!?! Oh noes, oh wait.. they also publish...wait for it.... Half life 2 and such for retail purchase. They aint the devil by the way, they just have a bad name.
