New CTR

Also, surely with the new turbocharged hot hatches I can't help but feel the civic will always be seen as "weaker"

I suppose it depends on how you like power delivery. If your driving style involves revving the a*** off the car then why not ;)

Can someone guide me through the website to where these pictures of a new type R actually are ? its god auwful...(the website)

looks like its gonna be not that good just like the last one really!

All your paying for is the updated design, which isnt worth paying for imo. The EP3 looked better.

I quite like the look of these in pictures, in the flesh the new civics are bulky look a lot bigger in person.

I was waiting for this to come out as I was in the market for a new car, but the March timeframe I was given by the dealer, and the not complete spec list I decided against it.

I went for the Golf GTI in end, I know it was more expensive but for the way I drive it would be more usable. I don't want to rag the thing to get any usefull power, the old Type R was only gave good power above 5,800 approx - too high for normal driving, good that they lowered the VTec band.

Pretty certain I won't be trading in mine for one of these, might be a car that grows on me though..

Love the looks of the new Type R. No mention of LSD though. Price will start at £18,500 according to my local dealer. My guess is that the GT version will be £1500 more expensive without sat nav.

I considered waiting for the new CTR before buying my ST but after seeing the headline specs and the pricing I'm glad I never. But depending how it is to drive I may well be very tempted to change to it in 1.5 years time.

I'm going to go against the grain and say I actually quite like that.

Looks a lot like a pug 206 from the side. At a glance. If you squint.

I love the looks but i'm really disappointed with everything else...was probably going to be my next car but to replace my current CTR....but what would be the point?

Oh well i'll start shopping for something else.

I've never particularly like the looks of the new civic, and the type R hasn't changed that. I'd rather have a lesser performing car that looks better.
