New deck - oil or stain?

So Iv'e finally got the deck finished, but now I want to protect it. Is oil better than stains/protectors?

Anyone have experience?

Only of using a good quality wood preservative with a stain in which is protecting mine and has been doing for the past 5-6 years and no sign of wear.

I used an anti slip stain. I think it was cuprinol. Wearing well and the anti slip works very well.

I've tried them all Ronseal, Cuprinol, Sadolin, after x1 winter flaking, marked, algae.

This changed that, the only true all in one i've found

Great stuff oils, stains, protects and doesnt flake.

Interesting. I slipped when stepping onto my decking a couple of months ago and had a swollen leg for about 2 weeks and now have a hard lump on my shin when I hit the edge so this sounds worth while.

How does it work? Is it textured I assume? Any pics?
