I've decided that I want to rip my bedroom to pieces and start again. One of the first items I need is a new desk.... I'm looking for some suggestions for a decent quality desk really, preferably something "open" and that will be easy to clean under and set up cable management with.

The wooden jobby I have at the moment is a pain and hasn't got enough leg room underneath.

Help please? :D

On a related note - I'm quite surprised OcUK don't have a set of selected computer desks for sale... wonder if that would be viable for the future :)

ive been looking and found a few good ones but the same questions pop up, ones that have certain "holdings" for pc cases, I never know if they will fit my case as they dont give dimensions, and pop out keyboard trays are the same, I have found one I have my eye on though, google wall street desk, I didnt want to list the name of the shop as it may be a competitor, cable management looks good and it has a built in usb port :P

Cheers, that google search gave me a few leads on some others, including some nice glass topped ones. Not sure if that will end in tears but worth considering :D

The wall street desk looks like it would fall apart pretty quickly. Honestly, you get what you pay for and I've gone through three of those types of desks. Cheap, cheerful, ****** keyboard trays. The first part to go is usually the keyboard tray. Any excess weight on it and it bends the rails... then once the keyboard tray goes, the entire rigidity of the desk is knackered.

Methinks that will fall to bits after 5 minutes! I like the style though.

Surprisingly its quite solid in respects to rigidity. However, scratch it and your screwed. Its only got a thin layer of veneer on it, and that can easily be taken off.

From ikea you should get the Galant, Jonas or Vika Grevsta.
