New domain existing hosting

I already have a domain name and hosting on reg123 and bought another domain from them months ago that I was going to host in house but never got around to it. How do I set it up so I can run both domains from the one hosting ?

Sorry to hijack your thread, but Im in the same position. I have 2 domains with 123reg with 1 hosting package.

Im unsure how to have them both hosted as seperate sites, mind sharing how you got it sorted please?

Just as well I checked back...

It seems what I did worked to a certain extent but in reality all I did was forward the 2nd domain name to a directory on the original hosting. This worked so typing in www.domain2.com redirected to www.domain1.com/domain2/index.html and appeared in the browser as www.domain2.com which was good. However when navigating though the website the navigation bar in the bottom left corner of the browser shows the full directory and doesn't look very professional. It also shows up in google searches as the full directory too.

After some googling it appears the best way to do it is through changing the DNS settings and this is where I've got stuck. In the settings I can see they both have a records set up for @ and www with the original domain also having mx records for the email. Now if I change the 2nd domain to the same dns settings as the first how will it differentiate between each site ?

Login to Cpanel, find the icon for either "Parked Domains" or "Addon Domains" and add the second domain, you can find out the differences between the two when you click on the icon.

Then just set the DNS servers for the second domain to your hosting provider.

you should have an option somewhere in your cpanel for "Add on Domains" or "Add Domains"

you just need to add the domain name and then change the name servers for the domain your adding.

123 reg servers should be as follows,

ns.123-reg.co.uk
ns2.123-reg.co.uk
 
The 2nd domain was purchased through reg123 so already shows up, but when I checked the name servers it's already set to the reg123 name servers.

I've just removed the web forwarding and now when I go to www.domain2.com it goes to i.p-address/domain2/index.html but displays a reg123 page. Where do I change where each domain looks for the index.html file ?

I spent ages last night looking through 123reg's support guides and on google but found nothing.

This morning they have answered my support query by saying I need to read their support guide on web forwarding, which suggests I can only forward ? :(

Are they restricting me from the addon domain function ?
