new drive not detected?

Hi all

Went to replace my slave drive today with a larger one (seagate 300gb) but windows refuses to show it :confused:

It has been detected in the bios! and when i go into my Hardware settings in my computer it is also showning there....I can unstall and reinstall the device! but it still dosnt show up in the main "my computer" window....just shows the 2 partions of my master drive.

Im running XP

Anyone shed some light???

There both IDEs on the same cable

Edit

There both IDEs on the same cable
go into admin tools and disk management, you need to give the drive a drive letter and format it.
 
:o NO.......What a numpty! cant believe I forgot to do that :p :rolleyes:


Must be all that Gardening the missis is making me do...
